    Who are we?

    Funded in 2009, Saborstudio is focused on creating stunning digital content including 3D animation, social media management and web/mobile development.

    The studio founders have over 15 years of joint experience in design and development and are two of the most acclaimed Latin American entrepreneurs.

    Saborstudio is the first Costa Rican startup accepted on a major US-based startup accelerator. As a DreamIt Ventures 2012 Alumnus selected from over 600+ applicants, the team leads the country’s tech startup ecosystem.

    They have been featured by in all major technology blogs and news channels, including Techcrunch, TheNextWeb and CNN.

    Location awareness indeed represents an interesting feature when it comes to advertising, as Saborstudio will deliver banners that blend in with the game itself.

    PotaToss is a stunning location based game

    Pota-Toss is a set of mobile games developed by Saborstudio. The production of the game was group-funded in Kickstarter, becoming the first Costa Rican project to double its goal on this website.

    After a succesful release in 2012, these titles have sold over 100,000 copies worldwide, reaching the Top #5 rankings in over 10 countries.

    The games have had an astonishing critical reception, being called “The Next Angry Birds” by Techcrunch and CNN, and its graphics being compared to a Pixar Movie by Business Insider.

    PotaToss is a stunning location based game

    Loopio is an animated 3D short film produced by Saborstudio in 2009.

    It was developed as an experimental video clip for french band “Kwoon”.

    Loopio was an official selection for the XVII Costa Rican Film and Video show, and it has received international critical acclaim.

    Jose Cayasso

    José is the founder and CEO of Saborstudio. Having graduated with honours from High School in 2005, he obtained the third highest admission grade for ITCR, one of the major Technology Universities in Central America.

    He worked for over 6 years for Intel as a Senior Technical Support provider. During that period he also directed the acclaimed 3D Short Film Loopio.

    In 2011, José re-imagined Saborstudio and managed the succesful funding of Pota-Toss in Kickstarter, using social networks as the main tool to find supporters.

    José led the team that attended the Summer 2012 DreamIt Ventures program in New York City, becoming the first Costa Rican startup to be accepted in a major US Accelerator. They graduated in August as one of the most promising startups of its class.

    In November 2012 he was selected as one of the 40-under-40 most important Costa Rican innovators of the year by El Financiero newspaper, and in 2013 he debuted as a TEDx Speaker in the Costa Rican edition of this conference. m

    Phillipe Casorla

    Phillipe is the co-founder and CTO of Saborstudio. He has worked with mobile and web technologies for the past 4 years, both in the US and Latin America. He focuses on location-aware technologies, gaming and mobile development.

    Phillipe was in charge of all front and backend development for Pota-Toss, and leads all the development tasks of Saborstudio.

    Prior to founding Saborstudio, Phillipe was an intern in the National University Community Research Institute of California, focused in implementing Parallel Computing Algorithms for social science experiments.

    Phillipe holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from ITCR.

    In November 2012 he was selected as one of the one of the 40-under-40 most important Costa Rican innovators of the year by El Financiero newspaper.

    Allan Boruchowicz

    Allan is the CFO and Business Strategist at Saborstudio. He has worked with startups at different stages for the last 3 years, both in the US and Latin America. He focuses on financial services, mobile technologies, media & entertainment, international wholesale commerce, retail, e-commerce, and food & beverage.

    Allan is also the Co-Founder and Partner at Carao Ventures. He was an Associate at Mesoamerica, a leading M&A advisory, strategy consulting and private equity firm in Central America and the Andean Region, with offices in San Jose, Costa Rica and Bogota, Colombia.

    Allan's previous professional experience includes investment portfolio management at UBS Wealth Management and FTA negotiation support at the Embassy of Costa Rica to the United States.

    Allan holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Babson College.

    Vinicio Chanto

    Vinicio is a Costa Rican industrial designer. He attended engineering school at Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica, where he received a joint study program in product design and visual communication design.

    In september 2010, he was hired to be part of a consultancy team at INCAE Business School, to participate as an evaluator in the Ranking of Websites of Public Institutions in Costa Rica.

    In 2011, he conducted a consultancy with Bac & Associates that accompanied the Ulloa Vocational Technical High School in their first E-procurement process through the Mer-link system, becoming the first of its kind to do such transition from traditional procurement to fully electronic procurement.

    From January 2011 to January 2013, Vinicio worked designing blended learning content for the Education Management Program from the Latin-American Centre for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development (CLACDS), in INCAE Business School in Costa Rica.

    His areas of expertise include data visualization and data architecture, in both virtual and printed media. He has experience in developing corporate identity manuals, editorial design, infographics, and multimedia interfaces. He is also extensively trained in developing e-learning content for executive education contexts.
